Welcome to Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. – Mu Xi Chapter
Since being chartered on March 11, 1977, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Mu Xi has been an active force within the Fraternity, 10th District and West Suburban Communities. Over the years the chapter has hosted various 10th District Fall Council Meetings, 10th District Conventions as well as the 102nd Founder’s Day Celebration.
Mu Xi Chapter is comprised of younger and older members. Most members were initiated by Mu Xi however there are many more who have matriculated from other chapters, undergraduate and graduate from around the globe.
The chapter’s membership has a very diverse history, numerous levels of higher education, and an intriguing and varying range of professional backgrounds. But no matter how large the membership becomes or how successful we are personally or professionally the members will always exude Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift and continue to exhibit that “Friendship Is Essential to The Soul.”

It is an esteemed honor and privilege to serve the chapter as the 21st Basileus since being chartered over 46 years ago.
As a chapter we have a rich history, strong traditions, and a very bright future. Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift are not only the Cardinal Principals of the Fraternity but a way of life for us as men, brothers, fathers, and members of our respective communities.
Mu Xi Chapter has been a dominating force within the 10th District (IL, IN, MI, MN, WI). Some of our personal accolades include an International By-Laws Committee Chairman (Bro. Marvin C. Byrd), the 31st Tenth District Representative (Bro. Climent Edmond, Jr.), 1st Vice District Representative (Bro. Timothy Tyler), 10th District Assistant Keeper of Records and Seal (Bro. Bryce Walker), 10th District Counselor (Bro. Larry Smith, ESQ.), 2 past State Representatives ( Bro. Anthony T. Smith & Bro. Ronald Bryant) and a current Illinois State Representative (Bro. Benjamin Blakeley, Jr.) to name a few.

This year I am pleased to announce that Mu Xi is hosting a Virtual Blood Drive through The American Red Cross. What this means is donors can schedule to donate at their convenience anywhere in the country there is an American Red Cross facility. Brothers, their friends and families and YOU can support our blood drive by using this link to commit and schedule. It’s that simple!!Our GOAL is 100 units. Donate in February and The American Red Cross will email you a $20 virtual Amazon gift card. Donate in March and receive a $10 gift card.
